Barangay Libo‑o
Barangay Libo‑o

Libo-o got its name from "libog-o", a Cebuano term meaning state of confusion. Local folks would claim that when one climbs the hill Liboo, it would seem like he is passing through a labyrinth of sorts, where he gets lost and could not trace his starting point. Thus, the expression "libog-o became popular until it was reduced to "liboo" which is now the name of the barrio where the hill is located.

In Libo-o is a sitio called Kamingawan. The term "kamingawan", which is Cebuano, means silence. This place is said to be the passage for witches. Criminals are likewise said to seek refuge from this place because of its deserted environment. The old folks call this place "tapusan sa hilanat" or end of fever.
